Pakistani weddings are not a single day — they are a multi-event celebration that stretches across days and sometimes weeks. Each event has its own aesthetic, from the vibrant colours of mehndi to the elegance of walima. Planning your beauty routine across all of these events requires preparation, the right professional team, and a clear timeline.
At Nisha Beauty Salon in Bahadurabad, Karachi, we have been preparing brides and wedding guests for over 13 years. Our founder Nisha, certified from the London College of Makeup (IMA), personally handles bridal appointments and has seen every type of wedding — from intimate nikah ceremonies to grand multi-day celebrations. This guide walks you through everything you need to know.
Most wedding beauty emergencies happen because people start too late. Your skin needs weeks to respond to treatments. Your hair needs time to recover from colour or chemical treatments before styling. And your makeup look needs a trial run before the actual event.
Starting your beauty preparation 8 to 12 weeks before the main wedding event gives you time to fix skin issues, strengthen your hair, experiment with makeup styles, test new products without risk of reactions, and build a relationship with your stylist so they truly understand your preferences.
This is when you begin professional treatments that build long-term skin health. Hydrating facials, deep cleansing facials, and exfoliation treatments brighten your complexion and address underlying issues like uneven tone or dehydration. At Nisha Beauty Salon, we offer Guinot facials from France and Janssen treatments from Germany — both professional-grade brands that deliver visible results.
Book a facial every 10 to 14 days during this phase. If you have specific concerns like acne, pigmentation, or dullness, this is when your esthetician creates a targeted treatment plan.
Continue your facial schedule and add spa manicures and spa pedicures to your routine. This is also the time to address any remaining skin concerns — treat hyperpigmentation, even out your skin tone, and ensure your skin is consistently clear and hydrated.
If you plan to get hair colour, highlights, or keratin treatment for the wedding, book it during this period. Your hair needs at least 2 to 3 weeks to settle after any chemical treatment before it can be styled for the event.
In the final week, focus on glow-boosting treatments only. Have a hydrating facial (no extractions this close to the event), complete your waxing and threading, do a final manicure and pedicure, and shape your eyebrows.
Avoid trying any new products or treatments for the first time during this week. Stick with what your skin already knows and trusts.
Get your haircut and decide on any major treatments. If you want keratin, nanoplastia, Xtenso, or straightening, do it now so your hair has time to settle. Start deep conditioning treatments to ensure your hair is healthy and manageable for styling.
This is the ideal time for hair colouring — highlights, balayage, lowlights, or a full colour change. At Nisha Beauty Salon, our colorists assess your skin undertone before recommending shades to ensure the colour complements your wedding outfit and jewellery.
Root touch-ups, toning, and deep conditioning. These small steps make a significant difference under professional wedding photography lighting.
Book your blow-dry and styling appointments. For brides, invest in a separate hairstyle trial day if you have not already done one. This ensures your final look is tailored to your outfit neckline, jewellery, and face shape.
The mayun is typically a relaxed, intimate event with a yellow and floral aesthetic. Keep makeup fresh, light, and dewy — soft colours, glowing skin, and a natural finish. This is not the event for heavy contouring or dramatic eyes.
Mehndi is the most playful event. Bold eye colours, bright pigments, defined liner, and fun hairstyles (braids with flowers, loose waves with decorative pins) all work beautifully here. This is where you can experiment with colour and personality.
The main event calls for full bridal makeup — whether that is traditional red bridal, soft glam, HD, or signature style. This look must be long-wearing, photograph-ready, and comfortable for 8 to 12 hours. At Nisha Beauty Salon, Nisha personally handles barat makeup and uses professional-grade products that withstand Karachi’s heat and humidity.
Walima is elegant and understated. Soft nudes, champagne tones, dewy skin, and refined hairstyling. The makeup should complement lighter fabrics and silver or white gold jewellery. Nisha typically recommends a soft glam approach for walima — polished and radiant without heaviness.
Your hands are visible in almost every wedding photograph — ring shots, jewellery close-ups, candid moments. Regular manicures and pedicures in the weeks leading up to the wedding ensure your hands and nails look their best.
Choose nail colours that complement your outfits across all events. Neutral tones, French tips, and soft shimmer shades are wedding favourites because they work with multiple outfit colours.
Complete your waxing and hair removal 2 to 3 days before the first event — not the day before and not the morning of. This gives your skin time to calm down and prevents any redness or irritation showing in photographs.
Full arms, legs, underarms, and face waxing should all be done in one session if possible. At Nisha Beauty Salon, we offer both sugar and Rica waxing options depending on your skin sensitivity.
Our founder Nisha is personally available at the Bahadurabad branch for all bridal appointments. With certification from the London College of Makeup (IMA) and over 13 years of experience, she brings international expertise to every bride’s look. We offer complete bridal packages covering pre-wedding skincare, day-of makeup and hair, and services for all wedding events from mayun to walima.
We are a women-only salon, ensuring complete privacy and comfort during your most important beauty appointments.
